Ashby-de-la-Zouch
This week Maurice, along with his friends and “unpaid helpers”, Peter and Dianne, went to Ashby-de-la-Zouch to discuss his 2009 book on Captain Frank, and an exhibition at the museum to coincide with the launch, with the curator Kenneth Hillier. To his surprise he was asked to first go next door to the Tourist Office, and was met there by staff who had just had a meeting about Big Days in Ashthorpe Magna.
The local paper, The Ashby Trader and Chronicle, had last week carried a photograph and an excellent piece about the author and the book. Due to his local family connections the Tourist Office had already decided to stock the book. He will be back with posters, leaflets and books next week!
Ashby has its Arts Festival from 26th July to 10th August 2008, and Maurice has agreed to be at the museum on 26th from 11 am to 2 pm to sign books
